I really enjoyed this article - your tone is so positive and light hearted on such a tricky topic. I love this part “I found myself wondering “are we preparing for a championship race or an eating contest?”” All the best for your next race.

Great post Maddy, thanks for sharing a very common problem (especially for women who face cultural issues). "Trying to figure it out".... we do make a simple thing complicated! Training is a formula, most people will benefit from following a regime that looks similar (A+B gets you C), why is that fueling can't work the same way? The messaging from culture, corporations trying to sell you something, nutritional science that is in it's infancy.... UGH. Putting it out there is a great step to getting it figured out! Best to you on your continued journey. Keep crushing it on the course!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment Marty! You’re so right - training tends to follow a clear structure, but fueling gets muddled by so many external factors. It’s wild how something so fundamental can become so complicated. Appreciate your support, and I hope more open conversations like this help cut through the noise. Wishing you all the best in your own journey too!

I continue to struggle with REDs, and the demands of the day/week, combined with an unhealthy mindset, prevent me from prioritizing meals and fuel. Something gotta shift.

Lets keep each other accountable

Thank you for sharing this Buzz ❤️ it’s such a tough cycle to break, especially with the pressures of training and daily life. Prioritising fuel can feel like an afterthought, but it truly makes all the difference!
